Transport For London (TfL) is launching new, brightly colored uniforms for staff that prioritize sustainability, functionality, and inclusivity. The updated uniforms feature recycled materials and vegan leather options, making them more environmentally friendly. The new design aims to help staff be more easily identifiable in busy train and bus stations, with larger, brighter roundels denoting which mode or team each person belongs to.

The refresh includes a new viscose blend fabric for trousers, shorts, and skirts for improved comfort and durability. The new jacket is made using 51 percent recycled materials, with old uniforms being recycled where possible. TfL's commitment to sustainability is reflected in the decision to offer vegan alternatives to leather belts and shoes, reducing the environmental footprint of the uniforms. The refresh process includes consolidated uniform deliveries and a focus on zero-emission vehicles, demonstrating the organization's dedication to sustainable practices.
