A study analyzing Google search data identified Norwich as the most "vegan-obsessed" city in the UK, with an average of 952 monthly searches per 100,000 residents. Following closely behind were Cambridge and Bristol. Norwich boasts 127 vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants, making it a top destination for vegan food lovers.

Veganism has been on the rise in the UK, with the number of people following the lifestyle quadrupling from 2014 to 2019. The country has seen a shift towards plant-based and "flexitarian" diets, with government data showing a decrease in meat consumption. Norwich recently endorsed the Plant Based Treaty, aiming to promote animal-free eating in council-run spaces like markets and leisure centers.
