Yaya the pig faced euthanasia due to conflicts with a family dog, but was saved by the Central Texas Pig Rescue (CTPR) in 2024. Yaya's initial excitement upon arriving at the rescue gave way to deep emotional distress, as she mourned the life she had known. With the help of the CTPR team, Yaya gradually began to adjust to her new environment, showing signs of emotional healing when she formed bonds with other pigs in need of a home.

The turning point in Yaya's recovery came when she formed remarkable friendships with other pigs, particularly with Jojo, a pig known for her gentle and nurturing nature. These relationships were instrumental in Yaya's emotional healing, as she received comfort and companionship from her newfound friends. Through their support and care, Yaya was able to rebuild trust and overcome the grief of losing her previous life.
