This Vegan Snakeskin Bag Is Made From Brewery Waste

UK accessories brand BEEN London has partnered with Arda Biomaterials and local breweries to create a vegan snakeskin-style bag made from upcycled grains from breweries and distilleries. The bag is the first to debut Arda's "New Grain" leather, which is produced using brewers' spent grain and offers various customizable finishes, patterns, and colors, including the vegan snakeskin design. This sustainable alternative to traditional leather creates 97 percent fewer CO2 emissions and eliminates toxic tanning processes entirely.

BEEN London aims to lead the charge in sustainable fashion by using materials like New Grain, Piñatex, appleskin, regenerated nylon, recycled cotton, and recycled polyester. The company focuses on waste reduction and sustainability, avoiding plastics, toxic chemicals, and animal products. The partnership with Arda allows the brand to pioneer new materials and circular design, with the vegan snakeskin bag serving as just the beginning of their collaboration.
