Tofutti Partners With Restaurant Group Greens and Grains to Launch Plant-Based Tzatziki Sauce

US-based dairy-free food producer Tofutti has partnered with New Jersey-based vegan restaurant group Greens and Grains to launch a plant-based tzatziki sauce using its Better Than Sour Cream product. Greens and Grains owner Lambros Psounos has been using this sauce as a base for his tzatziki for years, but with the chain's expansion, a larger-scale solution was needed. Psounos worked closely with Tofutti's food development team to scale the sauce for greater production, ensuring consistency as the chain grows.

The plant-based tzatziki sauce will be featured in several Greens and Grains menu items, including gyros and falafels, as well as a side dish with house-made pita bread. Tofutti is planning to expand its Better Than Sour Cream Dips line with a branded tzatziki product inspired by this collaboration. Tofutti's CEO, Steven Kass, expressed excitement about the partnership with Greens and Grains, highlighting the synergy between the two businesses and their shared commitment to serving the vegan and vegetarian market.
