Transport for London’s New Sustainable Uniform Includes Vegan Leather Options

Transport for London (TfL) is introducing new sustainable uniforms for its staff, featuring recycled materials and vegan leather options. The updated uniform, designed by Cooneen, includes a new viscose blend fabric for trousers, shorts, and skirts, a jacket made from 51% recycled materials, and vegan alternatives to leather belts and shoes. This move aligns with the growing trend of ethical veganism in the UK, which is protected under the Equality Act 2010.

With more than 25,000 employees at TfL, over 500 staff members may opt for the fully vegan uniforms. This change reflects a shift towards cruelty-free and environmentally conscious fashion choices, allowing staff who do not want to contribute to animal suffering or environmental destruction to dress in alignment with their values while working.
