Turion Labs Launches in Singapore to Expand Biotech Infrastructure Across Southeast Asia

Turion Labs, a new biotech platform formed by S&S LAB and Future Lestari, has launched operations in Singapore with plans to expand across Southeast Asia. The company aims to provide integrated support for biotech startups by offering shared laboratory infrastructure, contract research services, and regulatory assistance. Their first large-scale facility in Indonesia will provide modular laboratories and support for startups in areas such as cell-based meat, microbial fermentation, and functional food biotechnology.

Future Lestari’s Director, Cynthia Krisanti, highlighted the platform’s potential to accelerate product development and improve regulatory navigation, especially for companies at the intersection of science and consumer health. The initiative, endorsed by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, is poised to contribute to regional health and nutrition initiatives. Furthermore, while Turion Labs is not exclusively focused on alternative proteins, its infrastructure may support startups in plant-based innovation, cultivated meat, and fermentation-derived ingredients, creating an enabling ecosystem for ventures in the alternative protein and sustainable food sectors as they expand across Southeast Asia.
