Two new cellular agriculture scale-up facilities have opened in the Netherlands, aiming to strengthen the country's position as a global leader in the sector and invest in the future of food. Developed through a collaboration between several organisations, including the Cellular Agriculture Netherlands Foundation, Biotechnology Fermentation Factory Ede, Cultivate at Scale, Mosa Meat, and the Dutch government, these facilities provide infrastructure for cell culture and precision fermentation companies to scale up their R&D and production processes, accelerating the commercialisation of sustainable and innovative food systems.

The Biotechnology Fermentation Factory in Ede focuses on precision fermentation, while Cultivate at Scale in Maastricht is an independent spin-out of Mosa Meat, dedicated to advancing cell culture bioprocesses. With state-of-the-art equipment and advanced Quality Control processes, these facilities aim to bridge the gap between research and scalable production, supporting the global transition to more diversified protein sources and future-proofing food systems.
