Two Vegan Businesses Just Received $10,000 Each, Thanks To Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart has awarded two vegan businesses, Black Leaf Vegan and Mama Roots, $10,000 each as part of a small business grant program aimed at supporting Black and Latinx entrepreneurs. The grants were part of a $500,000 fund established by Gran Coramino Tequila, co-founded by Hart, and nonprofit organization Local Initiatives Support Corporation. The Coramino Fund seeks to help level the playing field for historically marginalized communities by providing financial aid to small businesses.

Black Leaf Vegan in Indiana and Mama Roots in Minnesota were selected among 50 companies to receive funding. Both businesses focus on plant-based, healthy food options within their communities. The owners of Black Leaf Vegan prioritize democratizing access to plant-based diets, while Mama Roots sources local, seasonal produce to provide quality, whole food meals. The grants will assist both companies in expanding their operations, with more grant funding opportunities set to open later this year.
