UK Bakery Chain Greggs Relaunches Popular Vegan Steak Bake

British bakery chain Greggs has relaunched its popular vegan steak bake under a new name, the Vegan Lattice (Steak-Free). The product is made with Quorn mycoprotein pieces, diced onions, and gravy, all wrapped in puff pastry. Originally launched in 2020, the vegan steak bake was discontinued the following year but has now been reintroduced due to customer demand. Initially brought back as a limited-edition option for Veganuary 2024, the latest launch of the Vegan Lattice appears to be permanent.

Greggs first entered the plant-based market in 2019 with the successful launch of the vegan sausage roll, which broke company records in terms of sales. The chain continued to develop more vegan options, including the vegan sausage breakfast roll and a vegan-friendly glazed ring doughnut. The Vegan Lattice is now available at Greggs stores across the UK for £2.10, offering vegans a tasty and convenient pastry option to enjoy.
