UK Football Team Unveils ‘World-First’ Vegan-Certified Kit

Forest Green Rovers FC has unveiled the first-ever vegan-certified football kit for the 25/26 season, featuring fully recyclable materials aimed at promoting a circular economy. The new lime green and neon pink kits, inspired by nature with a leopard print pattern, were designed in collaboration with The Vegan Society and Reflo to ensure sustainability and ethical production.

Reflo's innovative "Reloop" technology enables the kits to be fully recyclable, breaking down and remaking the materials into new items to combat the millions of tonnes of waste generated by the sports industry annually. This move aligns with FGR's commitment to sustainability, exemplified by previous experiments with bamboo and coffee grounds in their kits, as well as their decision to retain the new home kit design for two seasons to reduce waste and alleviate the financial burden on supporters. The club's pioneering approach to sustainability extends to its operations beyond the kit, including plans for a new eco-friendly stadium and current initiatives such as solar panels, organic grass, and an all-vegan menu at their current home stadium.
