Unburger Opens Franchise Program With Ann Arbor Location Set for August

Unburger, a Michigan plant-based chain, has announced the launch of its franchise program and plans to open its first franchised restaurant in Ann Arbor in August. The new location, set to open ahead of the University of Michigan fall semester, will offer a menu of plant-based comfort-food items such as burgers, Chick’n sandwiches, dairy-free shakes, and more. The restaurant will be located in The Yard, a development near the university campus.

The franchise will be operated by Bobak Bakhtiari, founder of Hangry Planet, a plant-based convenience store concept based in California. Unburger's founders aim to expand the brand beyond Metro Detroit and have already received interest from potential franchisees and customers in other markets. The company's goal is to continue providing exciting and accessible plant-based food to communities while maintaining the quality and energy that has made Unburger popular among customers.
