Upcoming Film ‘Food For Profit’ Criticized By Italian Minister For ‘Criminalizing’ Meat Industry

The Italian Minister for Agriculture has come to the defense of Italy’s meat industry following the airing of a documentary on factory farming in Europe. The film, ‘Food For Profit,’ exposes the connections between the European Parliament and the heavily funded factory farming industry in Europe. Despite public outrage over the reality of factory farm productions, the agriculture minister defended the majority of farmers in Italy, arguing that only a few individuals were acting inappropriately.

The documentary, which resulted from a five-year investigation, has faced criticism from the minister for allegedly criminalizing the meat industry. The film's director, Pablo D’Ambrosi, and journalist Giulia Innocenzi, who led the investigation, have highlighted the suffering and environmental pollution caused by intensive farming practices in various countries. Despite efforts to discredit the documentary, ‘Food For Profit’ is scheduled to have its UK premiere in the coming weeks.
