The 2025 V-Label Awards Germany recently announced its winners across eight plant-based categories, with products ranging from meat, dairy, and ready meals to non-food and novel innovations. The evaluation process involved a two-stage approach, with expert assessments and consumer input playing an equal role in determining the final outcome. Roughly 100 certified entries were submitted, leading to 27 finalists that underwent tasting by a jury consisting of industry professionals.

Among the winning products were vegan alternatives such as snack salami, plant-based blocks and spreads, sweets and snacks, as well as ready-made and frozen options. The V-Label certification, which originated in 1996, is used to identify vegetarian and vegan products in both retail and foodservice sectors. The German edition of the awards aligns with similar events internationally, including in Spain and Latin America, showcasing the growing popularity of plant-based alternatives. According to Cornelia Contini, Head of V-Label Germany, the combination of expert judgment and consumer voting ensures a balanced result that reflects both industry expertise and consumer preferences in the plant-based market.
