Veg-Led Food & Plant-Based Alternatives Can Coexist, Says Redefine Meat After Doubling UK Footprint

Redefine Meat, known for its 3D-printed meat alternatives, has expanded its presence in the UK by gaining a listing at nearly 400 Tesco stores. This comes as plant-based eating rebounds in the country, with sales of vegan mince and whole-food proteins on the rise. While consumers are moving away from ultra-processed foods, there is still room for both veg-forward options and plant-based meat alternatives to coexist, according to Simon Owen, the UK lead and VP of the EMEA region for Redefine Meat.
The company's focus is on creating plant-based meat products that replicate the taste and texture of traditional meat, without compromising on nutrition. Their products, endorsed by celebrity chefs and available at various retailers and foodservice locations, are gaining momentum in the European market, including a recent launch at Tesco. Redefine Meat's priority is to continue building awareness, encouraging trial, and providing consumers with high-quality plant-based options that deliver an exceptional eating experience while addressing concerns about ingredient transparency and taste.
