Vegan Association Stages Shared Picnics Across 23 French Cities This Weekend

French animal advocacy association FUTUR is hosting plant-based communal picnics in 23 cities across France on 29 and 30 August as part of its FUTUR Vegan Experience initiative. Attendees are asked to bring a fully plant-based dish to share, with food circulated among participants. Activities at the picnics vary by location and include shared meals, games, swimming, and conversation, with each event staffed by a designated FUTUR volunteer.

With more than 500 people registered across all locations, the picnics are open to vegans, people reducing their animal-product consumption, and those curious about plant-based eating. The events, held in public parks, gardens, and beaches, are free to attend, with voluntary donations accepted to support the association's activities. FUTUR plans to host similar picnics next year in 30 cities if this edition is successful.

Paris-based FUTUR, made up of activists with a long history of animal advocacy, has been involved in rescues, demonstrations, educational content, and events. The association aims to demonstrate through these picnics that plant-based living can be a social occasion, bringing people together to enjoy delicious and cruelty-free food in a communal setting.
