Vegan Chicken Nuggets Are Coming to California and Washington Schools

Rebellyous Foods is launching their vegan chicken nuggets, Kickin' Nuggets, in six school districts in California and Washington this school year. This will give approximately 125,000 students the opportunity to try the plant-based nuggets, which are made from soy protein, breading, oil, and spices. The nuggets have a crunchy, meaty texture that is similar to traditional chicken nuggets, making them appealing to kids.

These vegan chicken nuggets are not only tasty but also healthier than traditional options, with lower sodium and saturated fat contents. Rebellyous Foods has focused on developing a product that meets the nutritional requirements for K-12 food service, earning two meat-alternate credits through the USDA's National School Lunch Program. The company has been expanding rapidly and their products can be found in retail stores, hospitals, and universities across the Pacific Northwest.
