Vegan KitKat Discontinued In All But One Market

Nestlé has announced that it will be discontinuing the vegan KitKat, known as KitKat V, in all markets except the UK due to declining sales. The plant-based version of the popular chocolate bar was first launched in 2021 using rice milk chocolate. Despite being available in 15 European countries, including France and Denmark, Nestlé has decided to focus on its dairy-based KitKats moving forward.

The decision to discontinue the vegan KitKat comes after the product failed to meet sales expectations and added complexity to manufacturing operations. While KitKats will still be available in the UK for now, it is unclear if they will be removed from shelves in the future. The KitKat V received mixed reviews upon its release, with some consumers expressing hesitation to support Nestlé and preferences for the classic chocolate variants. Alternative dairy-free wafer bars are available from other brands for those who enjoy the taste of KitKats.
