Continental Wine & Food Ltd. has launched a new range of vegan-friendly, milkshake-inspired creamy liqueurs called Lacey’s Vodkashakes. These dairy-free beverages, available in Banana and Strawberry flavors, can be served chilled on their own or added to cocktails, milkshakes, desserts, or poured over ice cream. The drinks are gluten-free and free from major allergens, incorporating natural fruit flavors to provide a creamy taste. Retailing at £12 per 70cl bottle, Lacey’s Vodkashakes have an alcohol volume of 15 percent, similar to a medium-to-high alcohol wine.

According to Continental Wine & Food’s marketing manager, Amy Giacobbi, there is a trend towards year-round popularity of sweet and creamy shots, moving away from traditional festive associations. With a growing number of lactose intolerant adults and plant-based consumers, there is demand for drinks that cater to a wider audience. Despite the discontinuation of Baileys Almande, other brands like Black Lines and Misunderstood offer their own versions of creamy alcoholic beverages, with Panther M*lk – an oat milk cream liqueur – entering major supermarkets in the lead-up to the 2024 festive season.
