Vegan Shakes And Custard Now On The Menu At Every Shake Shack In The US

Shake Shack has introduced vegan versions of its famous chocolate shake and frozen custard, as well as a meat-free burger, at all of its US locations. The dairy-free options are made with NotMilk, a dairy alternative created through AI technology by NotCo. This move represents a significant step towards catering to vegan and vegetarian consumers, with Shake Shack partnering with Chilean manufacturer NotCo to provide these animal-free options.

The new vegan shakes and custards were initially tested at select locations in New York and Florida last year before being rolled out nationwide. Despite the introduction of a veggie burger, Shake Shack still lacks a fully vegan burger option due to the presence of animal products like cheese and non-vegan bun toppings. However, the chain has dabbled in vegan options through special collaborations, showing a willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the market. These new vegan options are now available across all Shake Shack locations in the US.
