German food manufacturer Rügenwalder Mühle had previously announced that they would only offer a vegan version of their ham, removing the meat-based option from their product range. This decision was made to make more room for their vegan and vegetarian products, such as the Vegan Thin Slices. However, after successfully increasing their production capacity, the family-run business has decided to reintroduce the classic meat-based ham cold cuts alongside their plant-based offerings.

According to CMO Steffen Zeller, focusing on the vegan products initially was the right decision, as it became their best-performing new product. By bringing back the meat-based ham cold cuts, Rügenwalder Mühle aims to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences and bring people together through their diverse product offerings. The company's motto is that it tastes best when everyone can enjoy it, reflecting their inclusive approach to food choices.
