Vegans Held Deceased Animals In A London Memorial Service – Here’s Why

A group of 85 vegans gathered in central London for the We Stand For The Animals memorial service to honor the countless non-human animals killed by humans each year. The ceremony involved participants holding placards with photographs of animals, some even holding frozen dead animals donated from sanctuaries. The animals commemorated included those used in the food system, kept in zoos, used for entertainment, and tortured in experiments. The event aimed to shed light on the suffering inflicted on animals by humans and challenge the belief that animals are here for our use and exploitation.

The memorial also highlighted the harm caused to wildlife by humans, particularly through activities like fox hunting which still continues in the UK despite being theoretically outlawed in 2004. By bringing attention to the various ways animals are mistreated, the activists hoped to raise awareness and encourage people to reconsider their relationship with animals.
