Vegans Support Farmers In New Animal Rising Project

Vegans Support Farmers (VSF) is a project launched by activist group Animal Rising to create an alliance between vegans and farmers in order to achieve a sustainable transformation of British farming. The project, co-founded by Sarah Foy, Tom Gardener, and Kerri Waters, aims to back a farmer-led transformation of the food system, while also raising funds to support the mental health of farmers, who have high suicide rates due to the broken food system.

VSF seeks to achieve fair prices for farmers from retailers, encourage the government to prioritize home-grown produce over cheap imports, and amplify farmers' voices in policymaking above those of retailers and agribusinesses. By finding common ground between vegans and farmers, the project hopes to address the environmental, financial, and political crises impacting food production in the UK, and to work towards a just and sustainable food system through collaboration and dialogue rather than confrontation.
