Viva! Crowdfunds UK’s First Dairy Documentary to Counter Industry Messaging

Viva!, a vegan charity based in Bristol, has started a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for a documentary that will focus on the dairy industry in the UK. Titled What Do You Really Know About Dairy?, the film aims to uncover the realities of dairy farming practices through undercover investigations, expert interviews, and scientific research. The documentary will explore topics such as the health claims associated with dairy, animal welfare conditions on farms, and the industry's lobbying and marketing strategies.

Despite having conducted investigations into other animal-derived industries in the past, Viva! has not previously produced a full-length film specifically focused on dairy. The charity believes that the documentary has the potential to challenge longstanding beliefs about dairy and empower viewers to make more informed and compassionate choices regarding their consumption habits. The crowdfunding campaign launched on World Milk Day with the goal of raising £25,000 in public donations, with additional match funding available once the initial target is met.
