Forged, a brand under the cultivated meat company Vow, has introduced Australia's first home-ready cultured meat product: Smoked Cultured Quail Spread. This limited batch spread contains 40% cultured Japanese quail along with butter, offering a rich, smoky flavor with a deep umami profile. The quail cells used in the product are sourced locally in Sydney and are cultured in a nutrient-rich broth over a period of 79 days to develop new and unexpected flavor and texture profiles.

Following approval from Food Standards Australia New Zealand earlier this year, Vow's cultured meat product has been made available for sale in the Greater Sydney area. In addition to the Quail Spread, Vow is working on developing other cultured quail products, such as tallow candles, whipped pâté, foie gras, and potato croquettes. As the first product of its kind in Australia, the Smoked Cultured Quail Spread is expected to sell out quickly due to its limited production, with online purchases being exclusive to the Sydney area.
