Waitrose Adds 9 ‘New And Improved’ Products To Redesigned PlantLiving Range

Waitrose has expanded its PlantLiving range with nine new and improved products, including vegan ready meals and convenience foods. The supermarket noted a trend in searches for vegan and convenience cooking, with vegan ready meals up by 31 percent in the last 90 days. The updated range features items such as Smoky Chili & Rice, Southern Fried No Chicken, and an Indian Inspired Takeaway Feast, which has seen a 38 percent increase in sales month-on-month.

In response to customer interest in having a variety of plant-based options, Waitrose has introduced new packaging that displays the number of plant varieties in each item. The supermarket found that 46 percent of surveyed customers are interested in eating 30 different plant varieties per week, and adding this information to labels can help track dietary diversity. The PlantLiving range is available online at Waitrose.com, as well as through delivery services like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat.
