Waitrose Adds New Products to PlantLiving Range, Reports Surge in Searches for Vegan Ready Meals

Waitrose has expanded its PlantLiving range with nine new and improved plant-based products, including Aubergine, Mushroom & Edamame Pillows with Soy & Ginger and Vietnamese Style Vegetable Pancakes with a Lime and Chilli Dip. The packaging has been updated to highlight the number of plant varieties in each product, as research showed that 46% of consumers are interested in eating 30 different plants per week.

The supermarket chain has reported a 31% surge in searches for "vegan ready meals" and a 38% month-on-month sales increase for the PlantLiving: Indian Inspired Takeaway Feast. Demand for plant-based products is growing, with a 200% increase in sales of vegan Christmas foods last year. Waitrose aims to provide customers with delicious and nutritionally beneficial plant-based options, with products such as Vegetable Tikka Masala & Rice and Smoky Chilli & Rice seeing sales increases.
