Wienerschnitzel Expands Vegan Hot Dog Offering to All Locations

Wienerschnitzel is expanding its vegan hot dog offering to all 325+ locations nationwide. The Field Roast Plant-Based Signature Stadium Dogs can be ordered in three different vegan-friendly options: Barbeque Veggie Dog, Chicago Veggie Dog, and Backyard Veggie Dog. The Barbeque and Chicago Veggie Dogs are vegan as-is, while the Backyard Veggie Dog can be made vegan by omitting the American cheese.

The Field Roast Signature Stadium Dog is made from plant proteins such as pea, brown rice, and fava bean, and is double smoked with maple hardwood wood chips to replicate the flavors of traditional kosher-style beef hot dogs. Wienerschnitzel conducted a successful regional market test last year in California, Texas, and New Mexico before deciding to introduce the vegan hot dogs on a national scale. With Americans consuming about 20 billion hot dogs annually, this nationwide rollout of vegan hot dogs at a popular chain signifies a significant win for the plant-based movement.
