Charles River Laboratories conducts animal experiments including canine inhalation drug and product toxicity testing on over 150 beagles at 55 Union Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. These beagles are poisoned over and over through multiple experiments, until their little bodies break down at which point almost all of them will be killed. The very few that do somehow miraculously make it out alive after these experiments will face mental and emotional trauma for the rest of their lives from a life of confinement in tiny cages 24/7 and the effects of the cruel, invasive experiments. This is of course on top of the serious health issues they face from being subjected to highly invasive forced inhalation of toxins over and over. With the proper care, almost all of these dogs can and do make remarkable recoveries when adopted out into loving families, because they are resilient and strong animals. Very few ever get that opportunity, though. It is the exception.. almost all of them end up being killed. And none of them should even be inside those cages in these awful facilities to begin with. We hold peaceful protests outside this facility twice a week: Wednesdays, 1:30-3:30 PM Saturdays, 2:00-4:00 PM We are calling on CRL to end all dog and cat experiments company-wide and to work with rescues to adopt out every dog in this facility and across the company. We would like to see Massachusetts and CRL lead the immediate transition to non-animal methods, starting with the dogs at 55 Union Street in Worcester and 334 South Street in Shrewsbury.
