Swedish plant-based cheese brand Stockeld Dreamery had announced it would be closing down due to lack of momentum to raise further capital. However, a last-minute acquisition by US-based cheese alternatives producer Bettani Farms means that Stockeld’s Cultured Cream Cheese will continue to be available in the US through Bettani’s portfolio. Bettani Farms is known for its development of a plant protein called Caseed, like the milk protein casein, and has also recently acquired other plant-based brands.

The news of the acquisition comes after Stockeld Dreamery had announced its shutdown, prompting an outpouring of support from fans. The founder and CEO, Sorosh Tavakoli, expressed happiness that their product and all its learnings and intellectual property will continue to live on through Bettani Farms. While Stockeld Dreamery's journey may be ending, its product will still be enjoyed by bagel shops and restaurants in the US thanks to the acquisition by Bettani Farms.
